Little but big things

I am SO proud of myself for my new blog... and the sad thing is is that the only thing I did was change the colors in the html. I'm working on getting it changed more... I'm going to have to brush up on cascading style sheets and xml, but it shouldn't be that bad. Then I can change other things and make it more 'mine'.

I got DanceDance Revolution last summer... but the dance pad that we got with it wasn't working. But that's alright since we lived on the second floor and those apartments were CHEAP. As in cheaply made. So the floor would shake and everything in the room would also shake. And in the game you have to jump. SO if you weigh anything, stuff would nearly fall off the walls and your neighbors would be super pissed. Even though they can tramp around like elephants and wrestle on the floor. ANYway, I don't have to worry about cheap assed Brittany Courts in Menomonie anymore. But my main point is is that I have been doing dancedance for an hour for the past three days. It's in the basement at Shaun's parent's house (in case you didn't know, that's where I am at... 10 minutes away from Lake Michigan and 1.9 hours from Chicago) so it doesn't upset anyone. Nice cement floors. But I sweated a lot. And my heartrate was pitter-pattering. So apparently I was working out good, but I also know that you burn more calories and whatever when you are at your target heart rate, which I was pretty sure I was above. Oh, well. At least I am doing something with myself. Now I just need to get some weight training into this all...

We might go to listen to some dixie-land music tonight. Better than sitting at the house all night like usual. Tomorrow we're going to have lunch at a sand dunes park on Lake Michigan, and Friday go to summerfest and watch fireworks and see Pat McCurdy. This time, I will bring TWO ID's! Haha. Boating for sure on Saturday, Cory might come up and go boating with us. Boating is definitly one of the best things here to do. Too bad I can't eat chocolate anymore!

DEVIL DAWG

The following is a PSA about Calli the cocker spaniel. No, no, no. NOT a holstein. COCKER SPANIEL. CANINE, not bovine.

Devil Dawg Pics

The devil has been subdued by exhaustion... fighting with the people she is supposed to love.

See the malice in those eyes? It is her best weapon... one look into those eyes and you are petrified.

This photo caught her in her true state... The infamous Devil Dawg. That's the thigh bone of a chicken mercilessly grasped in her vicious jaws... puppy teeth cause some real damage.

Attacking the Ice-Pop. Too bad audio cannot be uploaded so that one could hear the ominous rumbles that were emanating from her chest which were the ice-pop's death song. Following is the transcript: GrrrRRRrRRrrRRRrRRrRrrrrr gRRRrrRRrrRRrrRrRRrRrrRRrRRr BARK! gRrRRRRrRRRrR GGRRr GrrRRrRRRRRrRr

Weekend, again

We left for Chanhassen Tuesday Noon for Shaun's Wednesday morning interview. (6.5 hour drive) The room was nice, it had a whirlpool tub that wasn't all that cool because you couldn't even sit in it without sliding to the bottom. Bother. Ate at Houlihan's, that was delish. I got a southwest wrap or something, I highly suggest it. Then we left to go find this disc golf store after Shaun's interview that was done at noon somewhere on Lyndale by 94. That was a serious pain in the buttocks, and gas is expensive. Shaun drove right by it the first time then we circled the block a zillion times without finding it again. We finally went on 94 and then turned around, went back DOWN Lyndale and then back UP. Drove by this place called Rudolph's BBQ. Who would have thought that they would have made a BBQ place named after Rudolph Valentino? A film star of Italian heritage. Anyway we finally found the place and Shaun got a map of Minnesota Disc Golf courses. Then we drove to Elk River so he could play a round. More expensive gas wasted. We then drove by Isanti and I said "bye bye Rob! We'll never see you again!" Because it had been nearly a year since we saw this particular friend of Shaun's. We get home and go to the Firehouse to visit with some of the people that are going on a Canadian fishing trip (my dad, brother, uncle Rick, uncle Dave, cousin Adam, Tony and Mike Clark, and a few other people). The purpose of this trip was also to spread my cousn Mark's and uncle Lynn's ashes. But it's illegal, so they have to be sneaky. Talked to Alissa and she got all excited when she found out that Milwaukee is only a little over an hour away from Chicago. When Shaun and I were talking about if he gets a job in the area then we'll get a place to stay Alissa was gesturing that she'd like to stay with us so she could go to Chi-town. We are currently only a little over two hours away from that great big dirty city. Can't wait to go there again.

We hung out with Jennifer on Thursday (sorry we used you for your AC! But it was good to visit again! :) ) I got my hair cut Friday, now it's shoulder length. And I visited with Jenny Dixon who cut my hair, so that was nice. She's looking great, losing lots of weight! Wish I could say the same... And then later on Friday Rob calls us so we go and hang out at his cabin on Bass Lake in Sandstone Friday night and Saturday (boating, yaay!).

We go to visit my aunt Peggy Sunday, wait for my Mom to get home so we could eat dinner with her at Grand Grill, then stop by the Winds to see Mindy and say hi. We go home where we try to stay cool, and then leave this morning.

Now I am back at Shaun's house and on the internet, of which I was deprived for so long. Waiting to hear back from Target about the Team Lead position. I want to do it and not. Oh, well. If I get it no Carnival for me, since I have to take the following weekend off for Jean's WEDDING! :) I have a wedding to plan in 7 months with no $$ to grease the gears. Should be interesting, to say the least. Gotta get that guest list finished and decide who's in and who's out. I hate this decision. It's a tough one. :( That's why I've put it off.

Sorry so long again! It seems like whenever I do something interesting it all comes out in a rush and it's all on the weekend!

Looking forward to this: www.summerfest.com (Never even heard of it until my sophomore year of college) Not too many bands there this year that I'd like to see, though.

Weekend Schmeekend

So, Thursday was eventful. The phone interview people, Quad Graphics, didn't call until 7:30 when Shaun wanted to be out of the house no later than 8. Figures. So we were rushing around to get stuff done, he was getting dressed in his suit for his second interview in Baraboo and I was putting my silly little loan consolidation papers into an envelope and addressing it. Well, Shaun had taken the dog outside and then came back in and left her out. So he yelled at me to go get the dog and I said "like what I'm doing isn't important" and I got "not as important as MINE!" yelled back at me. So in a temper I went and let the dog back in and kept getting our stuff together. I hate it when he makes me feel like compared to him nothing I do is important. So if he wants to help pay back student loans at crazy high rates, he can go ahead and be my guest. But anyways, we get to Baraboo on time and we're figuring hour and a half, two max for this interview to last. NOPE. 3-3.5 hours. And it's hot out and I'm sitting in the car. Well, when he came out to tell me this he gave me a map and told me that there was a park I could go to and there was even a petting zoo in it. So I thought, "Great. So I can get lost and I can't call him because our cell phones have no service". So I sat there until he got back from lunch, and then one of the guys interviewing him was all like, "What are you still doing here? We even printed out that map for you!" And I told him how I was hopeless with stuff like that and how I'd probably get lost and whatnot. He then told me that he wouldn't hire Shaun unless I went. I knew he was kidding, but what do you say to that? Anyways, I got sick of sitting in that hot effing car and decided to go. I got the map turned around the way I though it should be (I had no idea what direction north was!) and took off. Well, I was feeling pretty good until I got to the end of the road (which had been correct up until that point) and it was the wrong street name. But then I looked off to my left, and lo and behold! A park! It wasn't the petting zoo one, but it was someplace I could get out of the car and stretch and relax. It was by the Baraboo river and had a little mini waterfall thing that sounded pretty. The HR guy told Shaun to have me send in my resume to see if they might be able to find something there for me. Baraboo summation: Got there at 11, left at 3. Had to meet Mom at 5 in Forest Lake, had to call and tell her that we couldn't do that. So we got there earlier than we thought, though, at 6:45. Then after having dinner with mom we went over to Jason's house and got to spend the night on the super dog-hairy floor.

Friday morning we drove down to Plymouth and even though we were early (breakfast!) we went to the Brookdale Plastics place and saw that Shaun's buddy JP from school was there for his interview so we left a note on his windshield. Then we had coffee at Starbucks and DELICIOUS bagels from Einstein Bagels. Then we went to Brookdale and I sat in the car and read. Shaun said it was OK, and at the end of the next week they were going to let him know if they wanted him to come in for a THIRD and FINAL interview. Great. This time with the company's owner. It's a small company. Flambeau said that they'd let him know this week, too. Then we drove down to Milwaukee, stopped at Shaun's aunt and uncle's place since we had time to burn. I took a shower because I was DYING from grossness. Then Cory came up and him and Shaun went disc golfing while I petted Kit Kat and played Super Smash Bros with Emma, Travis, John and Laura. Then Shaun and Cory came back and we had to leave. Got to Cory's house where his mom made us dinner (yummy!) and then we went to Pat McCurdy. Or rather, we went to where the show was, but due to the fact that I was out of state and had only one ID I wasn't allowed in. So we went to TGIFriday's at Miller Park and had a drink. Then we went driving around where I could hardly relax because Cory's driving was scary. Shaun and I were then falling asleep as Cory and his friend Angie who came with us were reminiscing about everything. Stayed there that night and boy, were we tired. Then we got up the next morning and tried finding a disc golf course but no such luck. So Cory asked if we wanted to go mini golfing instead, and I was definitely up for that. So we went and I had a bad day, but it was fun. We then left from there to go to Oakdale to his grandparent's house, they were having lunch. So we were there for a while and then came back here. Just crashed because of the crazy past few days. Ate the yummiest taco pizza ever! Then I got a call from Shannen at Target, and they were wondering if I was still interested in a position and if I was, if I would come in for an interview tomorrow at noon, which I agreed to. Completely forgot the next day was Sunday.

So I went, and it turns out that they wanted to interview me for a Team Lead position. It was horrible, all of the behavioral situational questions they asked me. I was SO exhausted at the end of it. I had to do two interviews and then if they decide that I'm a good fit, I have to go to a different store and go through it all again so that they can get multiple store's opinion. When Shaun came to pick me up I told him that and he was like, "Imagine! You went through all of that for an $8.25/hour job. Imagine how much worse it is for me when I'm trying to get $35,000 per year!" He constantly belittles everything I do in his own little way then when I get upset he hardly even cares, and doesn't understand why I get upset. Ugh. I feel bad that I might have to leave if Shaun gets a better job anywhere else. Can't drive two hours from Baraboo or 6 from Plymouth, MN to come all the way back here for $8.25! Hopefully I'll be allowed to transfer. But if not Oh well, I guess. I have to work every other weekend and 3-4 evenings a week.

WHEW! That was a lot! I finally had a semi-interesting life! Hopefully it doesn't bore all of you too much...!

bleah

I am still sending out resumes, and Shaun has interviews. He had one today in Germantown, WI which is a suburb of Milwaukee. He said it's a nice town, and the bonus is is that it's only about an hour and a half from Chicaggy. I love that city. Then he has a phone interview with Quad Graphics Thursday morning then an interview in Baraboo, WI (near the Dells) with Flambeau plastics, then heading to my cousin's house for Thursday night to make it to his Second interview with Brookdale Plastics in Plymouth MINNESOTA. I, meanwhile, have nothing. Oh, well. I can be a teller at a bank. I know how to count money. AND I'll have the weekends off. Well, mostly.

I'm really homesick, I miss my family and friends. Here all I have is Shaun and his family. Don't get me wrong, I love them all, but it's just not the same living in a family that's different than yours. It makes you realize what you had more and how much you missed it. I've been keeping busy by cleaning, watching the poopy (she's SO naughty! she loves biting and going to the bathroom in the house and chewing on everything she shouldn't. then she stares at you with ANGRY eyes, like 'I'm GOONA GETCHA! and she's only an anklebiter), laundry, dusting, searching for jobs, getting the paperwork done for consolidating my loans... ugh. Too much CRAPPY stuff to do. But I am trying to get my wedding invitation look down. And fun stuff like that! Haha. Anyways, gotta go search the internet for the coolest paper deals to be found!!

Thursday, June 9

It's been a while...

... but nothing really all that new. Shaun has had several more job interviews, one job offer (but it isn't all that great either, more hands-on work at a rate of pay that we couldn't live on, really). I haven't heard anything about the resumes I've been sending out. I'm beginning to think I am unemployable. Haha. Great. I have to pay back these student loans SOMEhow!

We went to Jeffrey Lehman's grad party last Saturday. I had to drive with Jennifer up to McGregor to get her grandma and aunt. They didn't feel like driving in the weather. And then I proceeded to eat way too much, but it was such good food! The rest of the weekend was basically uneventful. Tyler let our food spoil because Shaun said it'd last a few days. Well, he said DAYS, not WEEKS. Which is how long he let it set there. Whatever. My mom felt bad and then we had to clean it up (becuase all of the juices from the meat ran all over - bleck).

Anyways, gotta start another LOVELY day of job searching!
