Catchup

Once again, I have been remiss in keeping this updated, but I must say that on the whole we have a rather... mundane life. I will hit upon the highlights...

The weekend of January 21st we and a bunch of friends went to the Upper Peninsula to have fun and celebrate our anniversary. It was a good time, I played Wii and Guitar Hero and whatnot, and us girls relaxed in the cabin while all the guys went snowboarding/skiing. Shaun hurt himself, as he usually does whenever he does something somewhat strenuous. The he complains about it for the following two weeks while it still twinges when he moves a certain way. Ah, well. The hot tub was really nice to sit in at night, but with the wind whistling by and with the freezing cold temperatures our hair froze solid.

Valentine's day we ate at Sunsets in Wayzata, it was delicious. I had the prime rib. It'd been a while since I'd eaten any, and it melted in my mouth. Combine that with garlic mashed potatoes, and it was neaaaarly heaven.

A couple of weekends ago we went up to Hinckley, me to make a jacket and for Shaun to go to an ice fishing contest with my dad, brother, and a family friend. Well, the jacket was waaaay too advanced for me to sew, so my mom and I worked on it while the guys went ice fishing. Poor guys, the wind was blowing very hard and they froze themselves near to death. Ok, not really. But they were very cold and ended up having hardly anything to show for it. The largest fish was 4.5 lbs, and the smallest was just under half a pound. There were 50 prizes. The guys didn't get anything.

Thursday night I was driving to south Minneapolis (all by myself, which I never ever do) to help a guy from work - I was going to show him and a few people from his church how to take better digital photos. Anyway, on my drive there I got lost, so I called Shaun, who was at a bar. So I called Abby, my friend from work, and she talked me through. I was approximately three blocks away when my radio turned off. I looked down at my dash and the lights were nearly off. So I pulled over (luckily I was on a side street) and turned off my car. I had noticed the previous weekend that as I was driving my headlights were dimming and brightening, so it wasn't completely expected. I was just worried because I was in a somewhat... rundown.... condition. As I was walking up the street to tell Shaun what cross street I was on, I saw car window glass busted in the street. So after I found what street was the next one up, I hustled back to my car. Shaun got there finally, and started my car. He tried convincing me to drive my car as we were watching the lights slowly dimmed. I didn't feel comfortable doing that. Shaun then realized that he left his AAA card in Eden Prairie, so we had to drive there and then he met the tow truck guy in Minneapolis, and he let me stay at home. It was a very stressful evening, the one time I go out of my comfort zone to do something, and then I end up having a car issue.

Friday night Rob invited us to go hang out at Deegan's house in Isanti. While they were at the stupid move (Reno911 Miami) Shaun and I ate at Acapulco. I ordered a strawberry margarita, and when our server asked me top shelf, and was indicating a height, I said yes. Shaun got a Dos Equis bottle. Well, the guy came back with Shaun's bottle and my 36 (!) ounce BEER. Shaun gave me an incredulous look when the server walked away that I hadn't set him straight about the adult beverage I was served. I told him that I thought that it was a sign and decided to try beer. I had Shaun taste a sip of it, and he pronounced it Miller Genuine Draft swill. I drank it, and somewhat happily. Only because it had no taste. When we went up to play beer pong, I sat and watched until I saw them pressuring Shaun into playing it also. So then I decided I had to step up to the plate and take one for the team to make it home safely what with all the snow and whatnot. So I played beer pong for the first time in my life. And swilled the Bud Light. We won, and made it home safely.

I have some ranting and raving to do, but I shall save that for the next update, as well as some photos.....

Edit: If you don't know what beer pong is, check this out.Shaun had a bottle of Dos Equis 5 hours previously, so he was alright to drive.
