once again...
...more about jobs. It seems like it is something that we can't get away with. Sad. Anyways, it looks like we've decided to go ANYwhere as long as it is a good job and it pays well. And when I say ANYwhere, I mean ANYWHERE. Shaun's going to pick up a summer job type job here to have an income, and I think I am going to apply at Target. Just a cashier's job or something. Once again, something to make dinero. Thank God Shaun's parents are letting us stay here for free. So once he gets a good paying job, we're gone. The numbers were run on the job in Eau Claire, and there is no way that ends would meet monitarily there. No possible way. I just wish we knew what was happening. Oh, well. Not much we can do otherwise.

Jobs?
Well, I still have not heard anything form restoration hardware. Bleah. I was over-qualified anyways. Haha. I sent an e-mail to a design/photography/video place in Buffalo, MN but she said that they didn't need any help. But the lady DID forward my information on to someone she knew who did need someone with my skills. But the way it's looking I won't be anywhere in the area... a 1.5 - 2 hour drive isn't worth it for how little I am sure I would be making... Turns out that while we were standing in the middle of our apartment while moving out a lady called Shaun... telling him that they'd like to offer him a job. It's with Midwest Manufacturing. Which is a company run by Menard's. He doesn't really want to work there but it is a job, and it's better than living at a parent's house. The catch? It's in Eau Claire, WI. Which is only a half hour EAST of Menomonie, the crappy assed town that I've lived in for the past 5 years. Oh, well. If Shaun DOES get a job in Plover, WI there isn't much for me to do there. Work at Shop-Ko? I kinda hoped I could do better than that.
Moving sucks. I don't EVER want to do it again. :(

where are they all? not with me, that's for hella sure. i applied at restoration hardware on grand (in st. paul, mn for all of those not intimately [did that make the word seem dirty? haha] acquainted with the twin cities of minnesota) thursday. if they don't even call me i'll cry. i have an effing four-year degree (technically 5) and 2 years of managerial experience. not to mention i'm the best guest service representative that grand hinckley inn has EVER had. muahahah. so i'd say i'm overqualified. could be that i'm wrong. we drove by alissa's place. i want to live there! it's on chestnut. literally two blocks away from the xcel center, rivercentre, and the science museum. not to mention la cucaracha and ben and jerry's. which, btw, kicks cold stone creamery's ass. but the place that kicks both of theirs? haagen dazs. wow. so how'd it happen that i went from talking about jobs to ice cream? no wonder i'm not as kick-ass as sarah* and lost 20lbs and have abs. oh, well. now that i have free time i plan on working my ass off (literally) working out and whatnot. so. back to jobs. i am going to apply for a graphic artist's job here in port washington, wi. (remember step-by-step? with danadanadanadana insert guitar chords here and cody and what not? yep, port washington, wi actually exists.) we'll see if we get it. shaun's mom was telling us that we'll be ok, we just probably have to take 'for now' jobs. which i am cool with. she also told me not to doubt my skills as a designer. she got emotional too, it was so sweet. so i guess i won't doubt my skills anymore. it's just that i compare myself to everyone else out there and know that i am seriously lacking. at any rate. she told me that her boss has a family friend who has a daughter that is a graphic designer who works for target (you have to love networking - it's a wondrous thing). i would SO love to work for target. especially since i'd be based in minneapolis. sweet. st. paul, here i come! i hope. but if not, it won't be the end of the world. i'd just have to make new friends. which i plan on doing at any rate. i have only a few friends. shaun has a job interview at apache steel in plover, wisconsin. which is the middle of nowhere. but it is a job. we need a job. i have student loans to pay. bleck.
tomorrow is beer fest. i am dd. i get to sit and eat food all day, which is really really bad. but it sure as hell does taste good! ugh. i wish my tastebuds would die. so i get to watch a bunch of drunk people, and it's practically guaranteed that i get to see boobies, too. like i don't see any at LEAST 2 times a day? the boyz are out at de o'malleys. they're good guys, and fun to hang with, i guess i'm just in a melancholy mood. we all (me, shaun, cory, nick, steve, jp, and paul) were at antonio's, but then they were sick of the standing and waiting forever to get beer. (like they're not drinking more than their fill tomorrow... at any rate...) so they decided that shaun would go buy a case of beer at a gas station in sheboygan falls that sells it until midnight. we get halfway there and they call jp who rode with shaun and i and tell him that they are at de o'malleys. so we turn around. i don't fancy hearing shaun being a jerk and talking mean about everything and listening to other inane boy talk so i ask him to drop me off at his house. so here i am, updating my blog. after this, i'm going to check ben's and travis's blog to see if they have anything interesting to say. going with doubt it.
oh, and i decided i'm going to buy graphic design books and teach myself to be a better graphic designer. maybe i'll just go back to school for that... or pasty chef school... or my master's... or maybe i'll just sit on the couch eating bonbons and watching soaps all day...

Limbo Life
Just got done balancing my checkbook... we're going to head to St. Paul for a quick trip to see if we can find any jobs there quick on grand/summit/that area. It'd be super cool if we could. I would totally love to live there.
We can't stay long because when we get back we are going to start packing up shite so that my uncle Scott can help us haul some up to H-town tomorrow. Get some of this crap OUTTA HERE! So that we have less to worry about next week when we HAVE to move out. So, we're just hoping to apply... I wouldn't mind working in a resturant as a server, hopefully make some decent tips... that would probably pay rent. All I know is that I feel lost not having to worry about the frigging computer lab anymore and not having anything I HAVE to do anyday makes me lose track of what day it is. I really don't like it. I NEED SOMETHING TO DO! Here's hoping I find that. If we don't find anything then we'll probably end up staying at Shaun's parent's house... which I kinda don't want to do... but they have wireless internet and that'd make a job search easier, I suppose... Anyways, TTYL. Wish us luck!

Anti-climatic
Well, I am officially graduated now. It's nice not having anything hanging over my head that I feel like I should get done, but at the same time I feel like a serious slacker. I guess it's 5 years of having something that I should always be working on that makes me feel this way. I'll give a rundown of the weekend:
Friday, went to school at 9 to start getting the room set up. It was lots of work, but it got done. I did more printing (for free! YES!) to get another documentation book all put together for my other 4 projects of the semester. Ran out of protector sheets so I had to scavenge some from an old project. My mom and dad got into town at 4 while I was putting the finishing touches on my book. Then Shaun and his mom, dad and brother showed up and I finished my book and started frantically searching for everything that I needed. It was definitly interesting. Then I finally decide screw it, let's go eat. We went to El Patio which I haven't had in weeks since I've been on Atkins. It was DEELISH. I love that place. Then I left at 5:20 to go back to school to make sure that everything was set up. We opened at 6:30 and by 7:30 most of our food was gone. It was shocking... it disappeared like a horde of locusts had descended upon the room. And it was like 100 degrees in there from 12 odd computers and 50 odd people being in there. I got lots of compliments and lots of people showed up to see my work. I felt really special, it was so nice of everyone to come. I didn't really realize that there was that many people that cared that much about what I do. Afterwards I got to help put all of the computers back (even though I technically didn't have to help with tear down I still had to do them through work; I got a key to the lab and everything). Then I went home to Shaun who had been drinking at a friend's house so he was slightly obstinate. Jenny Mickey was spending the night and Shaun and Nick V wanted to go to Lakeside to see everyone there. So we went, and Jenny and I had an amaretto sour. Love those things. Then we were bored and left and we went to Taco Bell and then home and then bed.
Saturday: got up at 7, took a shower, got dressed, Tyler showed up. Were running late, had lots of things to do. Went up to mom and dad's hotel room to give them the tickets, stopped at Legacy Chocolates to get a mint truffle and a Mocha (burned my tounge on it, forgot about it in the rush of things). Had to be at school at 9 made it at 9:03, it was raining. Thankfully mom and dad dropped us off. Standing in the hallway I thought I was going to puke from heat exhaustion. It was SOOO hot in that hallway! Then finally 9:30 came and we started lining up alphabetically. As we filed in it so happened that I managed to be on the end in the center aisle. The numerous ways I could screw up occured to me. As we were standing there waiting for the faculty to come in the speaker for the morning, Gov. Doyle walked up the aisle. He shook hands with about 5 people, including me. That's probably about all the closer I'll ever be to anyone of celebrity status. Goody. But we sat there and I observed how everyone else was going up front and I managed to not screw up. Thank goodness. The last time we were in front of that huge of a crowd I did. How embarassing. Anyways, after that we went home and changed and took pictures and I cried with my mom. Then we went out to the party site. It was wet and cold and everyone was miserable. Marla and Al showed up and they stayed for an hour and then they left. Apparently it was too miserable for them to want to stay. :( Oh, well. I got Marla's shirt. I told her I was going to keep it and she told me that was OK because she had 4 of them. I was kidding. So when she invites me to her bachelorette party I'll bring it and return it. Anyways, we pack the party up at 3:30. We go to my apt and say our goodbyes to my parents and uncle and grandpa and they leave. I am super bummed out by the shitty weather. I was hoping we all could just hang out and have a fun time. Long story short, we still have most of a quarter barrel in our living room and all of the food that no one ate. That's a lot of food. Oh, and the cupcakes and cake I made too. Oh, well. We went out Saturday night to the Waterfront and then Lakeside where we did peanut races. I only lost once, and then Brandon and I raced. I was declared supreme champion of peanut races. (Peanut races are when you take a cracked/peeled peanut, hold it 3-4 inches above a glass of beer and drop it. The last one's peanut to rise to the top loses and has to slam the beer.) Then we went home where I chugged a bottle of water and took two tylenol. I woke up to go pee at some point and stumbled all the way there. Thankfully we cleaned our room otherwise I probably would have tripped, fallen and smacked my head on something and given myself a concussion. I'm just surprised that I didn't fall off of the toilet. And all that with only 2 amaretto sours, a diet coke and captain, and 2 smallish beers. Lightweight. And to think, I was thinking about getting shots. Haha. Woke up feeling about 95% yesterday.
But I am so happy to be done and hopefully finding a job and whatnot. Shaun has a job interview in Vadnis Heights on Wednesday. I really hope he gets this job so that we can live in St. Paul. I don't know where we're going to live when we get kicked out of our apt on the 28th. I think we should head to St. Paul to look for jobs just in case... so that we don't have to live at home. Going to order books offline now that I will have time to read them, but due to the fact that I am not sure when/where I am getting someplace else to live I am going to have them shipped home.

Ooh what a relief it is Pt.2
Well, I have technically completed my last project. (there is some tweaking with the scripting that I want to do at a later date, but I decided to turn in a working project instead.) And my presentation, so now all I have left to do is actually present and to burn a cd with my files on it. Then all that stands between me and graduation is Senior Show. (well, technically getting a 'C' or better, but I think I have at least a 'C' nailed down) I CANT FREAKING WAIT! Haha. I just want to be done with everything. I was talking to Jenny Mickey last night and she was telling me about how nice it was to not have to worry about projects all of the time. I can't wait for that. Stupid ass busy work. I was only taking 4 credits this semester but it's probably the busiest semester I've had. That also might be because I dedicated myself to this much more. So it's a coasting week now. I get to pre-cheese the crackers for the senior show Friday and make no-bake cookies and a cake and cupcakes. The cakes are for the party saturday. The cookies and crackers are for the show. It'll be so nice to have family and friends here to help me celebrate 5 years of hard hard work. And for everyone to see where I've been existing. The people I know are coming for sure: Mom, Dad, Tyler, Uncle Scott, Grandpa Glenn, Aunt Peggy, Uncle Rick, Tim, Lucy, Jennifer and Jeffrey Lehman, and Jenny Mickey. She's staying at my place Friday night. It'll be fun. :) I can't wait! Wait, I think I said that already... haha. Anyways, hope you all have a GREAT week! I know I will!

Updating the last post...
Just thought that I'd say that I am nearly done with my flash file!! I figured out a way to make it work... YAY!! So now all I have left to do on that is to get my preloader to work and to put music on it... then I am going to do my documentation and presentation! JOY I AM LESS STRESSED ALREADY! :D
Work and more work
Still chugging away on my Flash website. I just found out that the way that I was going to make the individual movies load into one another doesn't work on buttons, only in the main timeline... and I have no idea how to make that work. Hoping the internet will pull through for me and I'll find something that will tell me. Otherwise, I'm SCREWED. And I'm pretty sure that everything but the 'it doesn't work, i'm screwed' part went over most of your guys' heads. Got 6 hours of sleep last night, more than the 4 I've been averaging. Went to bed at 3, Shaun called me at 6, got up at 9.
Shaun's 'backpacking' with some of the boy scouts in Prairie du Chien (I say 'backpacking' because it's in a State Park and he doesn't consider it real backpacking). He promised to call me as soon as he got there last night. Apparently when they were unpacking he lost his cell phone and they managed to have no operating flashlights. So he had to wait until daylight to find the phone and call me. In the meantime, I was imagining all kinds of horrible things happening to them (and hoping they didn't happen) and feeling like crap. I kept trying to convince myself no news is good news. But all's well now.
Gotta get back to my non-working flash project and trying not to cry... the PMS and stress is KILLING me! (Too much info?)
ONE WEEK UNTIL GRADUATION!!!

Another lil update...
So, I applied for a job in Barron, Wisconsin yesterday. Where, you ask? I asked the same. It's near Rice Lake. But I realized today that the coverletter attachment had the guy's name spelled wrong. So that probably will make him angry and not want to hire me. Which now, oddly enough, is OK with me since my cousin Alissa might be willing to rent her apartment out to us for what my mom considers a very reasonable figure. She didn't say anything else on it. I AM SUPER PSYCHED. IT IS THE MOST ADORABLE LITTLE APARTMENT! So now I am almost hoping Mr. Barron Wisconsin will get pissed and not hire me. Haha. It's in St. Paul, only blocks away from the Xcel center. I want to live in a city sooo bad!!! The only bad thing is that I'll be only a few blocks away from La Cucaracha and Shaun will be within walking distance of the Muddy Pig. That's bad. But the good thing about (possibly) living there is that I would walk EVERYwhere! Unless it was too far. Another bad thing that I just thought of is that the garage is only big enough for one car. And Shaun thinks it should be his car since it has better gas mileage. I think it should be mine since I'm 1. making payments on the frigging thing and 2. It's in better condition so it should have a garage spot and not just some random parking lot spot. As ridiculous as this sounds, I'm ready to get pissed about it. Haha. Even though if we DO find a spot in a parking ramp it wouldn't be AS bad. I guess. We'll see... I don't know if we'll even move there. But I want to really really badly! (in case you couldn't tell by now...)
