Sorry!

For all of the ranting on my last blog. But I had to get it out in a constructive manner. It helped! :) And now for some (what I think can be, anyway) unbearable cuteness:

Dora in the kitty tower from where she can spy on the parking lot.

Cora all tired.

Cora's eyes are different colors. This happened after she was closing her 2nd eyelid shut over the eye. It started turning brown. But when the day came for her vet appointment, her eye was all better.

Shaun's parents are in town tonight, and then the Mohrs might come to the cities tomorrow to go to the Mall of America. Chris's 'final' project is monday night - a meal! I wish I could go. Heehee.

It's funny, I was just thinking about how every weekend from now until June had us doing something. ALREADY! Amazing. Shaun's parents this weekend, Festival of Nations, Jennifer's grad party, beer fest, and then memorial day weekend. We're thinking of going camping. It's just crazy how quickly things book up!

I have to thank Shaun's aunt and uncle for giving us two more couches. We really appreciate it! Now all we need is endtables, and it'll look like we have a REAL living room!

Gotta get to bed. Have a great weekend everyone!

Stupid bleeping drivers

So... the thing I hate worst about work is the drive. I drive approximately 7 miles one way. I do go on the nearest interstate, 494, to get to work. In the mornings sometimes it's backed up basically as soon as I get on to it, and sometimes it's free and clear. So that's hit or miss. But in the evenings basically it is backed up the ENTIRE 7 miles. Going 10mph, if I'm lucky. But what usually happens is that I am stuck in the back-up, and the people coming down the onramp cause everything else to back up, and the people around here don't practice their 'Minnesota Nice' very much. Don't people figure out that maybe if they did, people would be less angry and there's be less accidents and road rage incidents? Anyway, so there's these people trying to merge over, and their lane merges into ours. Well, the people behind me who are in their huge fancy SUVs and BMW/Mercedes Benz 4 door sedanboats or zippy little sports cars or their 1988 Honda Accords that are rusting to pieces decide that they have been injustly caused to wait, and decide to use the onramp as an additional lane, then realize that it's not actually a lane, and then decide to cut back in. Nearly causing accidents. And making poor people like me wait that much longer. Who practice their Minnesota nice.

The super sad part is that I have been practicing this a lot less lately. Everyone else driving like a you-know-what makes me less inclined to be nice. There's the people who use the exit ramp as a shortcut around .5 miles of backed up traffic, then hold up the people who are trying to use the exit ramp to actually exit. So that they can get to work. Then there's the people in the parking ramp who, as you are backing out, decide that they are more important and back up in front of you and cut you off and then putt putt around the parking ramp with you stuck following them all the way out. I'm not even going to start in about people who cannot do the posted speed limit in 70 degree sunny weather, or the people who don't use their turn signals and then slam on their brakes at the last possible second.

I really dislike what driving has done to me. It has started to make me a constantly irritated un-Minnesota Nice person. Grr.

How goeth the job?

Is a question I am sure many of you are asking. Right? Anyway, I guess it goes pretty good. I can't wait until I am more in the swing of things and I can be doing things without having to wait for other people to tell me how to do them. But it's just been a lot of sitting around and learning how to use the tools that I will need to know to do my job. Basically what I am doing is planning my boss's whole schedule, and helping with travel arrangements and expense reports and other administrative tasks for the people that work for him (photocopying, stapling, etc.). But it's going to be fun. It's a pretty laid back place, and the people there are really nice. I don't know how much I can really say due to the confidentiality of it all, so I'm going to stop right there.

But now when I get home at night I don't want to do anything. So I haven't been doing too much with myself. Some weekend when we're not busy I'll do some more design-y stuff, but until then night time is time to go for a walk, eat, and then relax before bed at 10. Haha! How sad. It's happened. I've gotten old. ;-)

We went to my parent's house for Easter this past weekend. We went to Tim and Lucy's house for supper, then we watched Chronicles of Narnia, and then played dice. Jennifer came home from work, so I got to talk to her for a couple of minutes, too. Yay! Sunday morning we went to church. It was the first service in the new part of the church, so that was really neat to be there for that. My church is over 100 years old, and this is the newest thing to happen in a long while. It's nice now because the people with less mobility can actually attend the service and not have to watch it downstairs on a TV. I got to see Jennifer again, and Peggy, Rick and Alissa. :) Then we went home and I helped my mom make dinner. I brought a Citrus Honey Glaze recipe (it was SOOOOO Delish!!!!) for one of the hams. So I got to make that, and Shaun and I made the pudding pies. But it was all so very good! Grandpa, Tee, Scott and Tyler came over, too so it was a nice dinner with the 8 of us. And I had to get a couple of those 3-D easter bunnies that Tobies makes every year for Mom & Dad and Shaun & I to share. :) It was nearly too cute to eat. But eat it we did! Anyway, I hope that all of your weekends were fantastic and take care!

Holy Freaky Thought, Batman!

Sooo... the other apartment building that we were seriously looking at went up in flames tonight. What a scary thought!!! It could have been us that got burned out! I mean, we have renter's insurance and everything, but how impossible would life be if that happened? All I can say is that the people who do live there are in my prayers - luckily there were no fatalities.

But - it makes me think 'What if?' It seems like people go through life (I know I do) thinking, 'Oh, that won't happen to me.' But it can and does - and this brought it home. So now I guess I am going to start thinking things out and thinking about the eventualities. Yikes. It's seems like it's negative thinking, but I suppose in the end it helps you be prepared.

At any rate, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat was AWESOME! Congrats, Ben! It was a great performance. :) I am so glad that we went.

After that we headed to Menomonie and met up with Jeremy and Ryan and played a quick game of pool until Shaun and Cory called and we went to go eat at El Patio. Num! After that we watched the Badgers national championship game at the Waterfront which they won. Yay! Then Andrea and I headed back to Jeremy and Ryan's to play another game of pool, then the five of us (their roomate joined us) headed over to Cory's. It was a good time, Lisa and Michelle made me feel welcome, and I really appreciated that. :) I had some wop, and it was STRONG. It was basically the first time I'd ever had it, and that's after I was out of college for a year! Haha! Ah, well. Then Shaun and I went to Jeff and Jim's with Michelle and her boyfriend Charlie for manjare rolls. Mmm! But then Cory kicked everyone out of the place and we all headed over to the Waterfront again. There was this SUPER drunk girl who I am sure was really nice under normal circumstances, but not that night. Anyway, she left on her own to go back to Cory's and while we were at the Waterfront some guy brought her there. He asked if we knew her, and we said yes. So he left. Turns out she just completely barged into his house thinking it was Cory's. The guy was nice enough to drive her to us. But when we all went back to Cory's for the night we didn't feel like trying to sleep on the couch next to her and probably listening to her being sick. So we tried finding a hotel room for cheapish, but the only available one in all of Menomonie was $180 suite. We didn't even stay in a fancy suite the night of the wedding! haha. So we just drove back to E.P. and slept in our own bed. I felt bad about ditching Cory for breakfast, but when I woke up in the morning (after 4 hours of sleep!?!?!) my stomach probably wouldn't have liked it. So. We just napped all day today because of our lack of sleep. It was such a beautiful day, and tomorrow promises to be much better! :-D

Kittie's Second Bath!!

Dora all wet!!!

Wet kitties!!

Sorry for the fog, it's a little steamy!

Cora has a scrawny tail!

Employed!!!!

I know, I know and I'm sorry that it's been a while since I've updated. But until recently, it was the same 'ol, same 'ol. I was getting really sick of it, and I didn't want to bore my faithful readers (all 4 of you? ;-) ) with more "oh, I don't have a job, I suck so bad and feel so bad for myself.' BOOORING. But now, that's all changed!!!

I am now contracted to work for Microsoft through the temp agency for a year, with a possibility for the position to be extended. Which would be awesome. It's kinda funny, actually, because a lot of what I have been doing I haven't really had any personal experience with, which makes me nervous. REALLY nervous. But then I think about the fact that they wouldn't have hired me if they didn't think that I would be able to do it. So I just have to dedicate myself to paying attention and learning quickly. I was told that I really won't be feeling like I know a lot until 6-8 months into it. They hired me at the end of the interview. It was really shocking. I mean, I have gotten the blow-off from so many places, and then this place just hired me at the end of the interview...! Very unique, but it was also very nice because then I didn't have to sit and wonder. I H A T E that. There is a place I went to an interview at in FEBRUARY and still haven't heard back from them. Which, at this point, I am assuming is a no (haha), but it's just so frustrating. I know that when I interviewed people for possible hiring I never made them wait for too long and I always let them know yea or nay.

Tomorrow I'm going to go see Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat with Andrea. Our friend Ben from college is Joseph. It should be really cool to see. It was just frustrating because weeks ago she and I agreed that we'd go see the show on Sunday. I called and asked if she could come also since she had a voucher from a castmate. The lady I talked to said yes. Well, whomever Andrea talked to said she couldn't, and that the Sunday show is sold out. They created a Saturday at 2 show since the shows were selling out. We decided that we'd go to the Friday night show if possible, but if not go to the 2 o'clock show on Saturday. Well, of course it's Saturday, which wouldn't be so bad, but Cory is also having a get-together in Menomonie on Saturday. So that kinda threw a wrench in the works. But it'll all work out. :) I cannot WAIT for El Patio for supper, though!!!!
