Well, I am officially graduated now. It's nice not having anything hanging over my head that I feel like I should get done, but at the same time I feel like a serious slacker. I guess it's 5 years of having something that I should always be working on that makes me feel this way. I'll give a rundown of the weekend:
Friday, went to school at 9 to start getting the room set up. It was lots of work, but it got done. I did more printing (for free! YES!) to get another documentation book all put together for my other 4 projects of the semester. Ran out of protector sheets so I had to scavenge some from an old project. My mom and dad got into town at 4 while I was putting the finishing touches on my book. Then Shaun and his mom, dad and brother showed up and I finished my book and started frantically searching for everything that I needed. It was definitly interesting. Then I finally decide screw it, let's go eat. We went to El Patio which I haven't had in weeks since I've been on Atkins. It was DEELISH. I love that place. Then I left at 5:20 to go back to school to make sure that everything was set up. We opened at 6:30 and by 7:30 most of our food was gone. It was shocking... it disappeared like a horde of locusts had descended upon the room. And it was like 100 degrees in there from 12 odd computers and 50 odd people being in there. I got lots of compliments and lots of people showed up to see my work. I felt really special, it was so nice of everyone to come. I didn't really realize that there was that many people that cared that much about what I do. Afterwards I got to help put all of the computers back (even though I technically didn't have to help with tear down I still had to do them through work; I got a key to the lab and everything). Then I went home to Shaun who had been drinking at a friend's house so he was slightly obstinate. Jenny Mickey was spending the night and Shaun and Nick V wanted to go to Lakeside to see everyone there. So we went, and Jenny and I had an amaretto sour. Love those things. Then we were bored and left and we went to Taco Bell and then home and then bed.
Saturday: got up at 7, took a shower, got dressed, Tyler showed up. Were running late, had lots of things to do. Went up to mom and dad's hotel room to give them the tickets, stopped at Legacy Chocolates to get a mint truffle and a Mocha (burned my tounge on it, forgot about it in the rush of things). Had to be at school at 9 made it at 9:03, it was raining. Thankfully mom and dad dropped us off. Standing in the hallway I thought I was going to puke from heat exhaustion. It was SOOO hot in that hallway! Then finally 9:30 came and we started lining up alphabetically. As we filed in it so happened that I managed to be on the end in the center aisle. The numerous ways I could screw up occured to me. As we were standing there waiting for the faculty to come in the speaker for the morning, Gov. Doyle walked up the aisle. He shook hands with about 5 people, including me. That's probably about all the closer I'll ever be to anyone of celebrity status. Goody. But we sat there and I observed how everyone else was going up front and I managed to not screw up. Thank goodness. The last time we were in front of that huge of a crowd I did. How embarassing. Anyways, after that we went home and changed and took pictures and I cried with my mom. Then we went out to the party site. It was wet and cold and everyone was miserable. Marla and Al showed up and they stayed for an hour and then they left. Apparently it was too miserable for them to want to stay. :( Oh, well. I got Marla's shirt. I told her I was going to keep it and she told me that was OK because she had 4 of them. I was kidding. So when she invites me to her bachelorette party I'll bring it and return it. Anyways, we pack the party up at 3:30. We go to my apt and say our goodbyes to my parents and uncle and grandpa and they leave. I am super bummed out by the shitty weather. I was hoping we all could just hang out and have a fun time. Long story short, we still have most of a quarter barrel in our living room and all of the food that no one ate. That's a lot of food. Oh, and the cupcakes and cake I made too. Oh, well. We went out Saturday night to the Waterfront and then Lakeside where we did peanut races. I only lost once, and then Brandon and I raced. I was declared supreme champion of peanut races. (Peanut races are when you take a cracked/peeled peanut, hold it 3-4 inches above a glass of beer and drop it. The last one's peanut to rise to the top loses and has to slam the beer.) Then we went home where I chugged a bottle of water and took two tylenol. I woke up to go pee at some point and stumbled all the way there. Thankfully we cleaned our room otherwise I probably would have tripped, fallen and smacked my head on something and given myself a concussion. I'm just surprised that I didn't fall off of the toilet. And all that with only 2 amaretto sours, a diet coke and captain, and 2 smallish beers. Lightweight. And to think, I was thinking about getting shots. Haha. Woke up feeling about 95% yesterday.
But I am so happy to be done and hopefully finding a job and whatnot. Shaun has a job interview in Vadnis Heights on Wednesday. I really hope he gets this job so that we can live in St. Paul. I don't know where we're going to live when we get kicked out of our apt on the 28th. I think we should head to St. Paul to look for jobs just in case... so that we don't have to live at home. Going to order books offline now that I will have time to read them, but due to the fact that I am not sure when/where I am getting someplace else to live I am going to have them shipped home.

Congratulations on graduating, Dana! I'm so happy for you! :) Must be a good feeling! Bummer about your party. I thought about you when it started raining and how your party must've gotten rained out! I wish I could've made it over there! We could've gotten crazy drunk together! :) We can do that when (hopefully!) you move to St. Paul!! I'm even more of a lightweight than you are though! I'm drunk off a double shot! And I mean DRUNK. Haha! Call me sometime, girlie. I have ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD to hang out if it's a weekday or if given notice far enough in advance, I can take a weekend night off! Tell Shaun I say hey! :) Have a good one!
